Nourishing Soul

We are going to celebrate New Year’s at our friends abode. It was so nice of her and her hubby to invite us. You know she is pregnant but yet she still loves to cook ,clean, and do all that things. I told her to take it easy and not to get herself too tired. I don’t know what to bring but she said not to worry about it cause she has plenty of foods to have for everybody. I am pretty sure it’s going to be fun. There will be singing, dancing, chatting and of course eating to the max. I will definitely eat a lot tonight, I won’t hold back. LOL! I told hubby to get something for the kids since they are not really fun of Filipino foods. I will feed them first before we go, that way I don’t have to worry and if they feel like eating there, it will be great. Eat and be merry. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We had a great Chrismas and everyone loved what Santa brought. In fact, it was too much for my little girl. She did not expect everything she got. It was really a surprise! She did not open all of it yet, until today. It’s still on the box and she just keep looking at it. Santa brought me a very nice present. A Nikon Coolpix Touch. Just want I wanted. I wonder how did Santa know. He is so sneaky, very sneaky.  Hubby is also delighted on what Santa brought. Very thankful, we are all very greatful indeed.  We also got what my stepdaughter sent, but they did not get ours. I told her not to worry for sure it will get there. I hope they will like what we give.  There were a lot of surprises in it. It’s Saturday and hubby said to get ready and we will go somewhere fun. Hmnn, I wonder where??? Stay tuned.

The time is here and the excitement around the house is uncontrollable. Kids are having the best time of their life.  I called my folks early hoping I can get through but unsuccessful. The line is busy actually the recording says it’s the circuit.  Hubby is finishing up something and later he will go and tried to finish his Christmas shopping. Yes, he is a last minute guy and he is not done yet.  We will be attending Christmas Eve service at around 7:30pm so he has plenty of time to finish what he needs to. I am done with mine and it’s wrapped and hidden in a safe place that no one can see.  Nobody, even a little mouse. You’ll never know what I did to find that safe place. hehehe. It took some courage.  I make some special dish to be eaten tonight. I hope they will like it. It’s something special and I worked very hard on it.

Five more days and Santa is coming. My little girl has been counting for the longest time and she is so excited that the day is almost here. She can’t wait and she can’t hold her excitement. I wonder why, maybe she is expecting something good for her under the tree. Something big.  She said, she’s been good all year unlike her brother. I am making some sweet bread, I feel like greeting the neighbors a very good holiday and at the same time, letting them taste my sweet bread.  My bread machine has been sitting in the corner for quite a while and I think I should use it at some point. So I did and I have been busy since morning making some bread. Hubby said, what’s up in the kitchen so noisy and all that stuff. I told him not to say anything, I feel like baking today. And he said MARVELOUS! He cannot believe that I am actually making some bread. hehehe:)

Yes, it’s Tuesday and it felt a lot like Christmas. I am done shopping for the kids but not for my beloved bananaking. I don’t know what to get for him, I know it has to be something special. Hubby is not picky whatever you get for him, he is happy and satisfied with it. I might check out the mall and see what they have. It’s cold outside but going to the inside mall will be just fine.  I really need to get this Christmas shopping done, it’s bugging me actually. I am starting to not like it. hehehe.  It feels like a chore not fun.  I have too many phone calls to return which I did. I wasn’t able to send Christmas cards to all my friends near and far, so I thought of calling them instead and greet them personally. Have to exit now and finish what I’m doing. Take care!

Time flies and another weekend we have here. Hubby is thinking of putting up some Christmas lights outside and I told him if he is up toit  it’s  fine. If  not, it’s still fine if we don’t have lights outside.  The kids are antsy and wants to go somewhere today or have a playdate. I don’t feel like watching kids today so I told them I will take them somewhere after I am done with what I’m doing.  It’s a Saturday and I want to take things slowly and not rush at all. Like whatever will be, will be. I am cooking some stuff. I feel like cooking today. My sister gave me a recipe that is so easy to make and it’s yummy. So I tried it and indeed it’s scrumptuous.  Even my picky eater ate it. He said, it’s surprising how tasty it is. Ok, everyone stay safe and enjoy the upcoming holidays.

I felt so bored today so i went to blockbuster and rented some movies.  Oh my! there were lots of new movies that I haven’t watch so I am ecstatic to see it and watch it one by one if  I can. The kids are pretty bored as well and wants to have a playdate but I told them I am not going to start having a playdate cause it will end up having playdates everyday. I want to spend this time with them and not to have a headache watching other kids.  You know how kids are, they get rambunctious and get out of control sometimes especially if they are having too much fun. It’s hard to control. And besides, it’s a holiday, time to spend with family as much as you can. That’s what I think.

Woke up late and just taking time slowly. We don’t have any plan except going to the church for their Christmas program practice. They both need to go there and say their lines memorized, no cheating. Maybe, I can do a little shopping a little later. I need to check what hubby is up to. He is so quiet still asleep. I will make some good breakfast, it’s once in a blue moon that I cook breakfast for them, only when I feel like it.  My son is gonna say, Wow Mom! it smells good, you are the best mom ever! Yeah! sure. LOL! He likes it when I cook breakfast not the quickie breakfast in the microwave. Okay, have a good morning everyone!

I wonder if my son has a cub scout today. It has been snowing since last night and is still going strong until now. I hope their meeting will be cancelled, hubby won’t be home till later and I don’t like driving in the snow. I hate it, it freaks me out. The kids are having fun outside. They are making a snowman but their snowman keeps falling down. My little girl is asking for help, but I told her that I don’t feel like playing in the snow so not to worry if they can’t make a perfect snowman. It looks nice to me already. She said fine, and she started rolling in the snow, looks so fun. I might join  them in a little bit, we used to play together like that before, a good way of bonding with them. It’s December 1st. I did not change my calendar yet, it’s still November and want it that day. LOL! I can’t believe 2008 is almost over and I am not ready to welcome a new year. Not just yet. hehehe. Hubby thinks, I am crazy, am not crazy, I’m just a little unwell. hahaha. That’s a song by the way. I don’t know what to do for dinner, there’s a lot of food in the freezer but I don’t know what to make out of it. We still have some chicken and some Korean side dish, that will be fine with me, but don’t know with the kids. Have to go and see what they like to eat. They usually like some burgers and fries, something that’s easy and quick.  Hope your Monday was great. Take care.
